Journey details

Set out from San Pedro de Atacama for a private journey through the high-altitude lagoons and desert landscapes of southern Bolivia. Visit Laguna Verde, Polques hot springs, Sol de Mañana, Laguna Colorada and the Siloli Desert before reaching Uyuni. The next day brings the Train Cemetery, Colchani and the vast salt flat, with lunch served on the salar and time to enjoy the landscape toward sunset, weather permitting. On the third day, travel back across the Altiplano and return to San Pedro de Atacama. Hotels and visits are subject to availability, access and travel conditions.

Itinerary

Southern Lagoons and the Dalí Desert: Private pick-up from your accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama and transfer to the Hito Cajón border. After immigration procedures, continue in an exclusive 4x4 through Laguna Blanca, Laguna Verde and the Dalí Desert. Stop at Polques hot springs, where bathing is optional, then travel past Sol de Mañana, Laguna Colorada, the Stone Tree and the formations of the Siloli Desert. Overnight at Palacio de Sal.
Salar de Uyuni: After breakfast, visit the Train Cemetery and the salt-processing community of Colchani before entering Salar de Uyuni. Explore its salt sculptures, Plaza de las Banderas, Dakar Monument and salt springs. Lunch is served on the salt flat. The route may include Isla Incahuasi when seasonal access allows, followed by Playa Blanca. If conditions permit, enjoy the changing light toward sunset. Overnight at Mallku Cueva or Jardines de Uyuni, according to availability.
Return to San Pedro de Atacama: After breakfast, travel south through the landscapes of the Bolivian Altiplano, including the Valley of Rocks. Stop for lunch along the route before reaching Hito Cajón. After border procedures, continue by private transport to San Pedro de Atacama.

Check the documents required to enter Bolivia and return to Chile according to your nationality and immigration status. Carry 400 Bolivianos in cash per person for entrance fees and personal expenses; entrance fees are not included in the tour price. Bring warm layered clothing, comfortable shoes, sun protection and a swimsuit if you wish to bathe at Polques. Allow time to acclimatize before this high-altitude journey, and tell us about food allergies or dietary restrictions before departure. Confirm luggage space when booking.
