Rainbow Valley, Yerbas Buenas & Petroglyphs (Private)
Discover ancient petroglyphs at Yerbas Buenas and walk among the mineral-colored formations of Rainbow Valley on a private morning journey through the landscapes and history of the Atacama Desert.

Journey details
We will pick you up at your accommodation in a private vehicle and head west from San Pedro de Atacama toward an area where desert landscapes and archaeological heritage come together. At Yerbas Buenas, we will walk among rock formations that preserve petroglyphs created by people who inhabited and traveled through this territory over different periods. Your guide will help interpret some of the figures and their historical context while we observe them without touching or altering the archaeological surfaces. We will then continue to Rainbow Valley, where mineral-rich hills display layers of red, green, white and earthy tones. We will explore the valley through gentle walks, with the flexibility of a private experience to pause for photography and observe the geological details at a relaxed pace. During the experience, we will enjoy breakfast surrounded by the desert landscape before continuing toward the Río Salado sector and returning to San Pedro de Atacama. The appearance and intensity of the landscape's colors vary naturally depending on light and weather conditions.
