Piedras Rojas, Altiplanic Lagoons & Chaxa (Private)

We will pick you up at your accommodation in a private vehicle and begin a full-day journey south from San Pedro de Atacama. Along the route, we will travel through Toconao, the Tropic of Capricorn and Socaire, with opportunities to stop and appreciate the changing landscapes of the Atacama Desert. As we gain altitude, we will reach the Aguas Calientes and Piedras Rojas sector, surrounded by salt flats, volcanic formations and the colors of the high Andes. The private format allows us to explore at a relaxed pace, with additional time for observation and photography. We will then continue to the altiplanic lagoons of Miscanti and Miñiques, set beneath their imposing volcanoes, before descending toward the Atacama Salt Flat and Laguna Chaxa, where different species of flamingos and other birds may be observed depending on natural conditions. Breakfast and lunch are included during the experience. Throughout the day, your guide will introduce the geology, wildlife and cultural context of the territory while adapting the pace to the group. This is a high-altitude excursion reaching approximately 4,200 meters above sea level. Weather, wildlife sightings and landscape conditions vary naturally and cannot be guaranteed.
