Tatio Geysers, Putana and Machuca (Shared)
Experience an unforgettable sunrise among steam columns at the Tatio Geysers, enjoy breakfast on the route and explore highland landscapes, wetlands and the village of Machuca.

Journey details
This shared early-morning tour takes you to one of the highest geothermal fields in the world. We leave San Pedro before sunrise and travel to the Tatio Geysers, where steam columns rise from the high-altitude landscape as the first light reaches the Andes. After exploring the geothermal field with your guide, we enjoy breakfast on the route surrounded by altiplanic scenery. On the way back, we stop at Vado de Putana and Vado de Machuca to observe wetlands, volcano views and local wildlife such as vicuñas, flamingos and other highland birds. The route ends with a visit to the village of Machuca, known for its traditional church and local food options before returning to San Pedro. Entrance fee is not included when booking directly through the website; if you request a quote through our bot or with a Molantur travel advisor, entrance fees are included in the final quote and managed by Molantur.

Recommendations for your trip
Bring very warm layered clothing: thermal base layer, fleece or warm mid-layer, windproof jacket, hat, gloves, thick socks and closed shoes. Temperatures can be below freezing before sunrise. Also bring sunglasses, sunscreen, at least 1 liter of water and any personal medication you may need. This tour reaches high altitude, so we recommend avoiding alcohol the night before and having a light dinner.
